Famous for its vineyards and wines, this Region includes significant natural areas such as Barrington Tops and is the home to the ‘dinosaur tree’, the Wollemi pine.

This region provides emergency care, as well as a wide range of hospital and community health services to people of all ages. From pregnancy and birth, children’s services, surgery, cancer care, mental health, chronic conditions, through to aged and palliative care.

Tamworth NENW Acute Care Team
The registrar works across both the Acute Care and Intake streams of the team, conducting clinics throughout the week to review patients who have been referred to the service. They also take a role in the MDT morning intake and ACT meetings to assist with disposition decisions and provide clinical input into care planning.

The model is for either single opinion and management assessments with a comprehensive letter back to the GP or for brief, no longer than 6 week follow up if needed. If requiring periods of care longer than 6 weeks, they should be transferred to the Further Treatment and Recovery (i.e. care coordination) team.
