Blenheim is the heart of the Marlborough wine region, world-famous for its Sauvignon Blanc, and sits close to the Marlborough Sounds for boating, fishing, and walking. A mild, sunny climate for most of the year makes it a popular base at the top of the South Island.

The regional hospital here provides acute, medical, surgical, and maternity services to Blenheim and the wider Marlborough district.
